I never had plans to run a free directory, but recently I thought why not? Hence I got into action had launched a Free Web Directory with decent pagerank, indexed pages and backlinks.

- 3. You come across a large no.of sites, be its MFA, nonsense or genuine, the niche is large out there.
- 4. If you carefully examine your submissions, you will realize that how people are working towards making money online and how intelligent people are out there and how much good content some sites have.
- 5. You also come across people when genuine ratings and feedbacks about your site and editorial approvals.
How can you start a free web directory:
- Get a good hosting and domain name.
- If you plan to create brand, register a good domain name and all its tla’s.
- Get a good directory script like phplinkdirectory (phpld).
- Get a decent looking free phpld template.
- Announce your directory in forums like digitalpoint, info vilesilencer and the directory critic.
Well thats all! Wait for your submissions to come in, make sure to approve quality sites with proper editing of descriptions and titles. Try and be a proud owner of a good free web directory. Never turn it paid after couple of submissions, always keep it free is all I can say.
